জাতিসংঘের মানবাধিকার কাউন্সিলের সিদ্ধান্তে Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) গঠন করা হয় যা একটি আন্তর্জাতিক ফোরাম হিসেবে কাজ করছে এবং প্রবীণদের মানবাধিকার রক্ষার জন্য আন্তর্জাতিক কনভেনশনের পক্ষে যুক্তি তুলে ধরছে। GAROP হচ্ছে বিশ্বের ৮০টি দেশের ৩৫০টি সদস্য সংস্থার একটি জোট।
GAROP প্রবীণদের অধিকার সংরক্ষন জোরদার করতে বিভিন্ন প্রচারণা (Campaign) এর উদ্যোগ নিয়ে থাকে। এই উদ্যোগ এর অংশ হিসেবে গত ৩রা মার্চ ২০২২ “Age With Rights” নামে বিশ্বব্যাপী একটি র্যালীর আয়োজন করা হয়। GAROP এর সদস্য সংস্থা হিসেবে Forum for the Rights of the Elderly, Bangladesh (FREB) এবং Resource Integration Centre এর উদ্যোগে গত ৩রা মার্চ ২০২২ তারিখে সকাল ১১ টায় ধানমন্ডিতে র্যালী ও মানববন্ধন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। FREB এর একজন সক্রিয় সদস্য হিসেবে গণস্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র উক্ত র্যালী ও মানববন্ধনে সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ করে। এতে উপস্থিত ছিলেন গোলাম মোস্তফা দুলাল, নির্বাহী পরিচালক, কার্যক্রম; ডাঃ মাহজেবীন চৌধুরী, সহকারী পরিচালক, স্বাস্থ্য ও প্রশিক্ষণ বিভাগ এবং অন্যান্য কর্মীবৃন্দ।
The Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) is formed by the decision of the UN Human Rights Council, which acts as an international forum and It argues for an international convention to protect the human rights of the elderly. GAROP is an alliance of 350 member organizations from 60 countries worldwide.
GAROP initiates various campaigns to strengthen the protection of the rights of the elderly. As part of this initiative, a worldwide rally called “Age With Rights” was organized on March 3, 2022. As a member organization of GAROP, Forum for the Rights of the Elderly, Bangladesh (FREB) and Resource Integration Center, organized a rally and human chain in Dhanmondi on March 3, 2022, at 11 am. As an active member of the FREB, Gonshasthaya Kendra actively participated in the rally and the human chain. It was attended by Golam Mostafa Dulal, Executive Director, Health Department; Dr. Mahjebin Chowdhury, Assistant Director, Department of Health and Training, and other staff.
